Orthokeratology or Ortho-K is the science of gently re-molding the outermost layer of the cornea to alter how light is focused on the retina. It is a non-surgical and reversible procedure where the corneal curvature is altered by wearing custom fit retainer lenses while you sleep.

These lenses are highly oxygen permeable and are worn every night while sleeping and removed after awakening in the morning. Once removed in the morning, you should have noticeably better vision which gets better each day until maximum correction is achieved.

Treatment times can vary depending on patient’s prescription and patient’s ability to successfully wear the lenses for the recommended 7 hours of sleep. After successful treatment patients will experience clear functional vision throughout the day without the need for glasses or contact lenses. The treatment is completely reversible after cessation of lens wear.
